OWL (Outdoor Wilderness Learning) Center (a community based program of the Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home)

The OWL utilizes nature and outdoor adventure experiences to provide an opportunity for family strengthening, personal growth, and group development.

Services and Community Engagement:
Equine Center: Therapeutic riding, Riding lessons, Equine Assisted Learning, services for  veterans, field trips
Outdoor Activities: ropes courses, maze, petting zoo, swimming, boating, and fishing at the pond
Outreach Activities: visiting schools, nursing homes, MedCamps, etc.

Volunteer Opportunities:
Opportunities are available at the Equine Center for side walkers*, horse leaders, and volunteers for Children’s Home groups (additional training required for Children’s Home groups)
Opportunities are also available for groups to help with facility maintenance.
*no prior horse experience required.

The OWL Center is funded through grants, donations, and program revenue.
